SO YOU ARE IN CHARGE...WHAT NEXT?
The first thing you should do is read the brochure.
E-MAIL:
We can answer any question, and let you know of any extras, or last minute details, via e-mail.
We will reply to your question as soon as we can. You may order by email too.
We can not, and will not accept any attachments! Please cut and paste into an email.
PRICE:
You and your group committee should decide upon a selling price (the brochure prices are only a suggestion), taking into consideration who else in the area is selling wreaths, how much your group sold them for last year, and what kind of prizes the group will be giving to the sellers.
SALES CARDS:
Order the sales cards your group will need. You will need one for each person selling. The four color sales sheet has pictures of the wreaths, swags, and canes, including the mail order wreath, and contains 15 lines for sales. Or you may use your own system. As soon as we receive your completed group information sheet, we will send you the sales cards.
To avoid duplications and confusion, we work with only one representative from each group.
Return the group information sheet as soon as possible!
GETTING THE SELLERS MOTIVATED:
Unless you are working toward a specific goal, we have found that the best incentive is cash. Raise the suggested selling price $ 1.00 and give that dollar to the seller as a prize. The children like this system the best because they can work as hard as they want to. If the parents take the sales card to work, the child (or parents) can make even more!
The child who works hard can receive a big holiday bundle of cash.
INFORMATION:
Make up a flyer to give to each person selling. Include the selling price, the order deadline date (it should be two days before your deadline so you can get all of the orders in on time), the purpose of your fund raising activity, the name of your group, and your phone number. Have a sales pitch for your sellers to use, and have them practice with their parents and relatives.
Then (with supervision) they can go out in their neighborhood and sell.
PICK UP:..........Choose a Pick up location.
Contact your group for volunteers to pick up the wreaths. Depending on the size of your order, you may need a truck. Some businesses will let your group use a company truck for this. If you find it necessary to rent a truck, a cube back truck with a door is the best. If you can't get a truck you can use cars and trailers, but it will be more difficult.
Call for your pick up time as soon as possible so you can get the time you want………… The times are first come-first served.
You must schedule your own pick up place and a pick up time.
ON PICK UP DAY:..............BRING THE PINK COPY OF YOUR PURCHASE ORDER SHEET!
Please be on time. If you are late, you may have to wait until the end of the day. Your order will be counted out for you and explained to you, then you can load the wreaths into your vehicle(s). Bring gloves for all helpers, wear work clothing; the wreaths are bulky and could be wet.
GUARANTEE:
Some groups pick up their orders after dark. Look at each wreath, swag, roping, and cane in the daylight. If you do not like any wreath, swag, roping, or cane we will exchange it for another one from our extras that we have ordered.
Should this happen, call us immediately and we will hold the exchanges for you.
EXTRAS:
Call early and we will hold the extras you want, on a first come-first served basis.
We order a limited supply of extra wreaths and canes. We will start releasing these extras for sale December 1st.
DELIVERY:
Schedule the individuals in your group to pick up their orders at one location. Give them a time frame or you will never have all of the wreaths picked up by the time the money is due. Give them a week to deliver the wreaths and collect the money.
We strongly suggest that you give the group a deadline of December 4th to turn in their money.
PAYMENT:
Your full payment should be in the mail to Rick Russo on December 7th. We must have your full payment by December 10th.
If your payment is late, an additional 10% late charge will be imposed.
PRIZES: Most groups have a holiday party and distribute all of the prizes then.
